CMD is often misdiagnosed because of its seemingly unrelated symptoms. In recent studies, however, statistics have shown that more than 60 million people now suffer from this chronic illness. Due to the rapidly increasing number of people with CMD-like symptoms, professionals are fast becoming aware of the need for differential diagnosis and treatment of CMD.
